How To Stop Divorce? Expert Says Its Down
To Overcoming The Reasons For Divorce.
With divorce rate at all time high, just
what is needed to prevent one? According to the Atlanta Journal
Constitution, getting married at a later age may just do the trick. It
says, "Early marriage is a key predictor of later divorce. Nearly half
of people who marry under age 18 and 40 percent under age 20 end up
divorced. It's only 24 percent for people who marry after age 25."
Researchers have even put a 10 year estimate for teenage couple to
split or divorce. However, do not postpone that wedding date anytime
soon, as people marrying late will have a lesser chance at a high
quality marriage, based on a telephone survey by the the National
Fatherhood Initiative (NFI).
The NFI research has discovered that the prime age for marriage to be
between 23 - 27 years old as this age group are half as likely to
divorce or separate that the younger group before it and generally
enjoy better quality of marriage than the age group after. But for the
many couples facing divorce who can't possibly turn back the clock,
relationship author T.W Jackson suggest looking at the reasons of
divorce to prevent one.
The main reason for divorce of all time is infidelity, a reason closely
associated with another culprit of divorce, boredom. While men and
women tend to seek fulfillment outside marriage, the men does it out of
sexual impulse and peer pressure, while the women stray for attention.
This means that a divorce is less likely if the men is the cheating
party. With the women, the attraction goes beyond sexual gratification,
and this makes it harder to save the marriage.
Communication breakdown is next on the list that often lead to divorce.
Jackson remarked that stopping divorce is relatively easier when
communication is the problem. Often times, this type of divorce stem
from heat of the moment, and the decision to divorce may likely be an
impulsive one that is not mutually agreed upon.
Another common reason for divorce is financial issues and disagreement.
Every couple will experience this stage at some point, and trouble are
bound to happen if there is not enough to make ends meet. Disagreement
on spending allocation can also contribute to financial woes in couples
leading to divorce.
Other reasons include childlessness, sexual incompatibility, and vice
addiction. On the brighter side,
Jackson assured that the odds of
preventing a divorce is encouraging regardless of the the reason,
although some reasons have higher probability than others. For more
